I played sports in high school, and I tore my ACL while I was also going through a lot with what had happened to my dad and brother, but my very last year of high school, I started taking art classes.
I was introduced to art therapy, and art became the complete outlet for my grief. I fell in love with drawing. I loved challenging myself, and I found I had patience for it. It brought me a lot of peace and relaxation.
I grew up creative… eccentric maybe. I was a little bit weird, but in an acceptable and funny way! Kids still wanted to play with me. In my art now, I play a lot with patterns, colors, a lot of things. And that’s my personality—I’m outgoing and energetic, and like I said…eccentric.
Starting a business or a side hustle has to be for the passion of it. It can’t just be for the money. Even if everything falls through tomorrow, I would still need to do this—for me."
